New GT Radial MAXMILER WT3 gets grippier and EV Ready 3rd September 2024
The new GT Radial MAXMILER WT3 winter light truck tyre has been launched with all 18 sizes achieving an A grade in Wet Grip and carrying the brand’s “game-changing” EV Ready logo.
Available immediately, the tyre is initially available in 18 sizes with 15-17” rims, section widths from
185-235 and series sizes from 55-75.
The range also benefits from higher load indices for single and dual use as well as faster speed indices to ensure every size is finetuned towards the latest and best selling light trucks.
The GT Radial MAXMILER WT3 delivers a 20% performance increase in wet braking, a 10% improvement in dry braking and a 5% enhancement in rolling resistance compared to the GT Radial MAXMILER WT2 Cargo, which remains available in selected 12-15” rims.
The results have been achieved through a new dedicated compound to boost performance and endurance while deep wide grooves and zig-zag sipes deliver safety on all round conditions, especially snow and ice. The tyre carries the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.
Furthermore an optimised tyre pattern and shape results in comfort and even wear while delivering the same high mileage lifetime performance expected from the MAXMILER portfolio in heavy duty operations.
The GT Radial MAXMILER WT3 has also become the brand’s latest dedicated light truck tyre to feature the EV Ready logo, signifying best use across dual electric vehicle (EV) and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.
The tyre was designed and engineered at Giti Tire’s European Research & Development Centre in Hannover, Germany whose core focus attributes for the project were grip, safety and efficient mileage in winter.
Fabio Pecci-Boriani, Fabio Pecci-Boriani, Deputy General Manager for Product Planning PCR and LTR, Giti Tire R&D Centre (Europe), said: “The objectives of the new product were to retain the established winter performances, long lasting mileage and robustness of the previous MAXMILER while setting new standards in wet grip, low rolling resistance and preparing the segment for the electrification of commercial vans.
“We’re proud to say our engineers managed to tick all the boxes and deliver a truly outstanding tyre that is the ideal companion for winter operations, meeting both current demand and that of future vehicles.”
